She is getting caught up with technology talk. You need to focus on the basics. Make sure materials are fully bilingual (proofread, corrected, edited and re-edited). Get students interested. The reason the "SFUO Bubble" that I keep hearing about exists is because of back-seat promotions on the web and facebook. Sure, the interwebs provide useful ways to reinforce your message, but you need to get your message out to NEW students who may not be friends with SFUO execs and people on the Federated Bodies first. Not all students are interested in student politics, and they shouldn't need to be connected to them to hear about or feel comfortable going to events.
TV Screens won't get people out to events. Facebook groups won't get people out to events. What will Julie do that's different and innovative?
DRAMA.
People are not happy with Julie, and she is trying hard to maintain her composure. Angry eyes. Tristan bombards her with her failures from last year, ended with "By taking all of these things into account, why should anyone vote for you?". Sarah Burke brings up the infamous "botched translation" from the Winter Games. She blames the printing people. Why didn't anyone check the flyers before they were given out?
Julie ends with another point about technology. IT WILL FIX EVERYTHING.

Wasnt the SFUO against technology for the voting? How will technology imporve everything you think its going to distroy our elections?
I think the issue here is using technology as a means of promotion, not as a method for voting!
If you're talking about technology in this way, it needs to be used as a extra point, not as the basis for promotions.
will this technology help her with 2way communication with students? or does 2way communication matter this time around?
I find it unfortunate that Julie is so caught up on the screens that aren't helping her goal for two-way communication with this new paperless bombardment of events. It's also too bad that a lot of the consultation that she mentioned was either unrelated to her portfolio or didn't do much to help student life in the short term...
