and now, the Ongoing Saga concerning the E-Vote

Mike Fancie proposes that voting should only take place on computers set up at polling stations to protect against fraud and giving away votes.

2:18 - Some members want to go In Camera. Rob, Faris and Ryan speak about how the Board owes it to the students, and that they should be able to know why the Board makes certain decisions. Notable quote: "We were elected to do our role, and we should do it in a transparent manner". Yes!

In Camera motion fails, so we go back to chatting re: e-voting.

So here, the main issue is that the BoA already voted IN FAVOUR of e-voting. The SAC also found that it was constitutional. Fancie says that anyone could steal your PIN and vote whatever way they want. Rob brings up the important fact that he looks like a lot of people. These people could pretend to be him, even if he votes IRL. Fancie is not pleased. He says something about people being willy-nilly with their votes.

Mel Book brings up some good points, saying that it's time to move forwards into 2009, and that e-voting is in the best interests of the students. Much more discussion about this. It's a bit late to be talking about this....the campaign begins in less than 3 hours.
