I normally do not follow this blog; however, someone pointed me to this allegation and I felt compelled to respond.
The fact of the matter is that I do not remember a whole lot during this hearing today, but I absolutely refute that my alleged "grinning" had anything to do with the reflection of my feelings today, which were definitely not happiness or anything of the sort.
It is irresponsible for you to publish this on your blog, as you are assuming something from this and you are leading your readers to assume something from this comment.

We were simply noting/commenting on what we observed at the appeal this afternoon.
We are glad that your feelings toward the actions at the hearing today were nothing close to happiness, as it was upsetting to see the defendants, incoming members of the executive, clearly dismiss the concerns of the students they will be representing come May 1.
However, it was an observation. This was a room full of concerned and implicated students, and this is what a few people brought to our attention. The bloggers here observed this as well. We appreciate that you are not implicated in the proceedings, but this observation was made immediately following the defendants walking out of the hearing.
We felt it should be mentioned. If it was completely unrelated, then apologies all around.
As someone who saw you grin from ear to ear and someone who later saw you whispering to Frederico, CHAIR of the BOA, it looked suspicious.
How will this be fair at the BOA? The completely BIASED BOA? And if the chair is challenged as he is allegedly involved in the slate and you are then chair... omg what a manipulative mess.
First off, I would think you should follow this blog Mr. Haldenby, as it provides a direct window into what some students are saying, and my blog as well of course :). Second, I saw the "grinning". Thirdly, what were the bloggers implying? That 3 out of 6 of your SFUO executive were violating the processes we "hold dear", and you were looking pleasent? Perhaps it's time for you to get your exec under control, (even though they are elcted individually.)
You were grinning like a kid in a candy shop. You should be ashamed that the few times the students ever have to hear from you, apart from some emails, is when you're make a jackass of yourself.
The original raison-d'être of this blog was to liveblog the Board of Administration meetings and let students know about all of the crazy shit that goes down.
However, the promise of iPods influenced us to stray from this path for a bit to cover the 2009 SFUO elections. Since then, we've been covering a bit of everything SFUO-related.
If you've got tips about exciting things on campus, let us know by emailing us at boavoice.blog@gmail.com.

Dear BOA voice: KEEP BEING HONEST!
you have GOT to be kidding me: 'alleged grinning'!?
... really?!?
and, calling us irresponsible for stating an observation is absolutely ridiculous and stinks a bit of protesting too much, Lady Macbeth...
It's a blog. Relax.
