If you get a chance, I would suggest picking up this week's issue of La Rotonde. There are a few good articles on the circus that was the SAC Hearing last Friday.
From the editorial (forgive me if my translation is a bit off! I wanted to make sure our anglophone readers saw this):
"Mr. Haldenby, you inaction leaves a lot to be desired. Your lack of leadership put the students who attended the hearing in a belligerent situation (a term which you use well). You speak in the name of the SFUO, while some of your employees and members of the BOA took part in this protest, despite the fact that they should all act in accordance with the principles and values of the SFUO. You saw this and did nothing. You consented to their action. Such acts should have been dealt with there and then, not behind the scenes now that the situation has deteriorated. When Protection Services had to be called to reestablish the peace, you should have tried to ease the tension immediately. You missed out on an opportunity to show that your interests are those of all the students, not simply those of a few. Now, writing a letter to students is about the only thing you could do. But will it be enough? Certain students don't seem to want to forget this inaction and accuse you of being an accomplice. You had an hour to step up to the podium and stop the situation, but you consented to it and made it so that students were profoundly disrespected.
It is essential that you clean up this mess and prove that you are neutral in this situation. Right now, it's easy to question your neutrality."

I'd personnaly translate "belliqueux" to "belligerent" (that is the translation to the letter, and is a closer translation of belliqueux than "agressive".)
But that's just my two cents. Carry on :)

I wish this wasn't the case, considering the actions and inactions of this year's executive... thanks for looking out for my interests SFUO Exec, and representing who we are as a student body... furthermore, thanks for considering safety, community spirit, problem solving, integrity, and transparency, among a host of other values that we as university students should be well able to uphold. Maybe this appeal is Karma?

Although I agree with La Rotonde's point, I personally think that they should also be putting a harsh criticism of those members of the BOA and the SFUO were weren't just being inactive.

Thank you, I had already read that on the La Rotonde site.
My contention was towards the main argument of the article.
But again, I agree that Mr. Haldenby should have been complicit in the proceeding.
